DEPARTMENT OR SCHOOL SITE
The Project Services Teams were established to execute bond and other specially funded smaller projects in a timely and cost effective manner while preserving critical labor skills and resources. The Project Services Teams are geographically divided by North, Central, and South.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
A Senior Facilities Project Manager provides direction and oversees all activities of Facilities Project Managers, level I and level II, and Assistant Project Managers, and assists in the administration of a Branch or Region. Typical duties include:
- Providing management and direction to several project teams responsible for the activities related to single discipline and small multi-discipline construction projects
- Performing site walks to verify project progress and monitor construction project activities for compliance with contract documents and safety standards.
- Reviewing and resolving construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
- Overseeing and evaluating the performance of project staff assigned to construction projects.
- Reviewing and evaluating status and overall construction project progress to ensure delivery within approved timelines.
- Assisting Facilities management staff with bid and contract planning.
- Assessing bid specifications for appropriateness and probability of completion under stated timeline.
- Reviewing all change orders for assigned construction projects and assessing any impact on project outcome
- Reviewing and verifying applications for payment and performing overall fiscal management of multiple construction projects.
- Coordinating project team activities with other District organizational branches and departments such as the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Design and A/E Technical Support, Facilities Contract Administration, Inspection Unit, Maintenance and Operations Areas, and Regional Offices.
- Assisting in developing and recommending internal policies and procedures.
- Maintaining, reviewing, and updating project data and metrics within maintenance and operations reporting systems.
- Providing written and oral reports to higher-level administrators regarding project status relating to scope, schedule, and budgets.
- Assigning staff and projects.
- Planning, directing, reviewing, and participating in construction management training for staff.
- Assisting in developing or reviewing personnel management policies and procedures within the organization and assuring that personnel programs and transactions conform to regulations and District policies.
- Providing constructability review of construction contract documents such as architectural, engineering, utility, and shop drawings and specifications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, business administration, or a related field. Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential issued by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI) may be substituted for the required education.
Experience: Six years of experience as a project manager in the planning, design, modernization, and construction of facilities, two of which may be at the level of an assistant project manager or higher. Experience with educational facilities is preferred.
Special Physical Requirement: Ability to climb ladders, walk on roofs, and move safely in partially completed buildings and crawl spaces
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
The District is seeking a capable leader who is highly organized and experienced in managing a group of construction managers and support staff that oversee multiple construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with District personnel, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders while ensuring compliance with District policies, procedures and construction management standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment in managing multiple projects simultaneously, balancing attention to detail with the ability to delegate responsibilities effectively, and providing oversight and guidance to project management staff. Substantial knowledge and understanding of applicable building codes and regulatory requirements is highly desirable, as the candidate will work closely with agencies such as the Division of the State Architect to support project approvals and compliance.

Selection and promotion are based on a competitive employment assessment process. Candidates who pass all parts of the assessment process are placed on a hiring (eligibility) list based on their assessment score. Hiring departments may make job offers to candidates on the top three ranks of the hiring list. Eligibility typically lasts for 12 months.
