JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Regional Pathway Navigator serves as a bridge between LAUSD high schools, CTE-Linked Learning, counseling services, and partner colleges within the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD).

 

Typical duties for this position include:

  • Serving as the primary liaison between LAUSD high schools and assigned LACCD colleges on student enrollment, rosters, and course registration.
  • Monitoring enrollment timelines and coordinate with counselors and site liaisons to ensure students are correctly enrolled and confirmed.
  • Supporting equity-focused outreach by ensuring first-generation, English Learner, foster, and low-income students receive timely information and assistance.
  • Assisting in aligning DE course offerings with priority sectors identified in the Los Angeles Regional Consortium (LARC) plan.
  • Working with college faculty and LAUSD staff to build and maintain shared course inventories, articulation maps, and pathway handoff tools.
  • Supporting the integration of DE courses into master schedules, ensuring courses are intentionally embedded into CTE and A-G/Cal-GETC pathways.
  • Providing training and technical assistance to site-based counselors and DE liaisons on enrollment systems, application processes, and student communication tools.
  • Facilitating workshops and information sessions for students and families, ensuring materials are accessible and culturally responsive.
  • Maintaining clear communication channels between schools and colleges, escalating systemic issues to the Dual Enrollment Director.
  • Tracking student enrollment, participation, and completion data, disaggregated by subgroup, to monitor equity outcomes.
  • Collaborating with the DE Director and data staff to identify enrollment barriers and recommend solutions.
  • Participating in regional planning and professional development convenings hosted by LARC and LACCD.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, public administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university (Master's Preferred).


Minimum Experience: Experience working in K–12 or postsecondary education, preferably in counseling, college access, or pathway programs.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

 

The ideal candidate is an equity-driven student advocate and collaborative liaison with a strong background in K–12 or postsecondary counseling, college access, or pathway programs. They possess a comprehensive understanding of the dual enrollment landscape, Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways, and A-G/Cal-GETC transfer requirements. The successful candidate will serve as a vital operational bridge connecting LAUSD high schools, CTE-Linked Learning, counseling services, and partner colleges within the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD). They excel at intentionally embedding college courses into secondary schedules, ensuring clear articulation with regional high-demand workforce sectors—specifically Biotechnology, Child Development/Education, Mental & Behavioral Health, Patient Care, Public & Community Health, and Green Energy/EV Technology.

 

Because this role focuses heavily on site-level coordination and direct fieldwork, the ideal candidate must thrive in daily tactical execution. This includes managing dual enrollment timelines, validating registration rosters, coordinating section build-outs, and troubleshooting college application systems. Working under the guidance of the Dual Enrollment Director, they will provide continuous technical assistance to high school counselors, facilitate culturally responsive workshops for families, and utilize disaggregated data to uncover and remove local enrollment barriers.The Navigator will support the Dual Enrollment Director in tracking project outcomes connected to K12 SWP goals, dual enrollment expansion, equity gap closure, pathway alignment, and student transition into LACCD programs. This may include collecting school-site updates, monitoring enrollment and completion data, documenting student support activities, identifying implementation barriers and helping prepare information needed for grant reporting and continuous improvement.

Selection and promotion are based on a competitive employment assessment process. Candidates who pass all parts of the assessment process are placed on a hiring (eligibility) list based on their assessment score.
