Saticoy Elementary is located in North Hollywood in the East San Fernando Valley. The school serves approximately 535 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 5th Grade. 92% of students come from low socio-economic status backgrounds. 45% of students are classified as Emergent Bilinguals; 67% of students are White, 26% are Latino. and 3% are Asian. The school has the following Special Education programs: resource specialist program, and four special day, deaf and hard of hearing (LS) program classes. Saticoy Elementary has a dual language immersion, Armenian program that serves grades K-5. Saticoy Elementary is the site of a dual language, Armenian California State Pre-K program (CSPP), supporting a pathway to biliteracy from Pre-K-5th grade.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Will have a variety of school leadership experiences including both leading instructional initiatives and managing school operations. They will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to articulate a clear rationale for instructional practices and district policies. They will have experience working collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups and knowledge of programs and supports for emergent bilinguals and students with disabilities. The ideal candidate must be highly organized with the demonstrated ability to build on systems and programs currently in place at the school. Strong leadership is a must, and bilingual Armenian and/or Spanish is a plus.
SALARY:
SALARY: 41G - E Basis ($126,504 - $157,802) – 234 paid days
- For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
- For an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized “settlement” (i.e., the process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment).
- Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (PUBLIC SCHOOL SETTING):
- Eight years of successful full-time public school district certificated service
- A minimum of three years of experience as a teacher in a K-12 program
- A minimum of two years of experience in an elementary school
- Two years of service in a position that required and utilized an administrative credential, such as assistant principal or equivalent position
Employees who have been issued a below standard Performance Evaluation, or Notice of Unsatisfactory Act(s) and/or Suspension shall be ineligible for application to any promotion process for one calendar year following the issuance of such a Notice

- A valid California teaching credential requiring a Bachelor's degree and a program of professional preparation, including student teaching
- A valid California Administrative Services Credential • Multicultural coursework*
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university • District Master Plan requirements*
