REGIONAL COORDINATOR, OPERATIONS SUPPORT SERVICES

Provides operational support to assigned schools within a region by guiding and informing principals, school staff, and parents in the areas of school operations, including matters related to school safety, emergency preparedness and response, permits and attendance, child abuse reporting, student discipline, facilities, athletics, and equity and compliance issues and concerns.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates and administers the implementation of programs to support schools with operational needs such as:
Incident/Crime Reporting ● Human Relations Issues
Hotline Tips/Hate Crimes ● Violence and Gang Prevention
Crisis Team Implementation ● Conflict Management & Resolution
Safety Collaboratives ● Transportation Issues
Sexual Harassment ● Uniform Complaint Procedures
Threat Assessment ● Educational Equity, Nondiscrimination Issues, Title IX
Facilities Emergencies/Incidents ● Enrollment and Attendance Procedures
CONTINUE - PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guides schools to accomplish successful completion of safety programs, projects, and activities such as the Integrated Safe School Plan, Child Abuse Awareness Training, Administrator’s Annual Certification, etc.
- Oversees programs related to:
- Campus Aide Allocation and Supervision
- Intra-District Permit, School Suspension, and Opportunity Transfer Appeals
- Student Integration, Open Enrollment, E-Car, and E-Cast
- Expulsion Review Committee, Discipline Foundation Policy
- Facilitates and coordinates allocation of space and services for Prop 39 co-locations
- Provides operational support to affiliated charter schools at assigned region
- Coordinates and resolves the operational needs of schools and services requested including monthly homeless encampment surveys
- Reviews, evaluates, and implements District policies and procedures that guide school operations activities
- Prepares and processes reports and communications regarding school operation activities
- Coordinates and resolves the operational needs of schools and services requested during the extended school year and summer school sessions
- Coordinates summer graduation services
- Supports, reviews, and facilitates summer field trips
- Provides operational support for early education centers
- Performs other duties as assigned
SALARY:
43G, (School Support Administrator, 0515) – A Basis ($149,046 – $185,940) – 261 paid days
NOTE: This position will close on June 30, 2025.
- In the case of an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized “settlement” (i.e., the process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment).
- For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
- Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority-based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
- This position is deemed certificated under Education Code Section 44065, but may not qualify for "creditable service" under Education Code Section
- 22119.5 for CalSTRS benefits. However, if the candidate chosen for the position is already a CalSTRS member, he/she can fill out an election form to remain in CalSTRS and thereby obtain CalSTRS credit for this service.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than two (2) years of which must have been in a position(s) requiring the Administrative Services Credential
- A valid California Administrative Services Credential
- An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university
- Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework *

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- School site administrative experience, preferably principal level, in grades K-12
- Demonstrated experience in operational matters including:
- Student discipline proceedings including opportunity transfers and expulsions
- Knowledge of District enrollment and attendance procedures including permits, registration, attendance reporting, and dropout prevention initiatives
- School safety, emergency preparedness, and preparation
- School site facilities issues and concerns
- Knowledge of California Education Code and experience dealing with law enforcement personnel and related agencies in conjunction with District and school matters
- Knowledge of Child Abuse Reporting and Procedures, and
- Knowledge of Sexual Harassment Procedures
- Ability to plan and implement professional development and training for large and small groups
- Experience with computer and basic software programs and District applications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel throughout the District, as appropriate, to perform assigned duties
- Ability to speak Spanish or another target language
