REGIONAL COORDINATOR, INSTRUCTIONAL DATA

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates, gathers, and analyzes student performance and growth data from an assigned region to develop strategies in support of the academic needs of students
- Collaborates and partners with the Region administrative team, school personnel, parents, and the community to ensure data-driven, results-based support services and programs for all students
- Identifies data-driven strategies to provide ongoing professional development cycles for targeted school site’s administrators and designated Data Champions and ongoing support to strengthen data-driven decision-making in schools
- Guides the region’s administrative team in using data to drive instructional changes at schools by analyzing and determining next steps based on disaggregated test scores, school walkthroughs, collections of student work, and District assessments
- Coordinates the development and implementation of their school’s Data-Driven Decision-Making model
- Collects, displays, and analyzes regional, school, and individual data to support academic and behavioral decision making
- Conducts ad hoc analyses and prepares reports to meet the needs of the region
- Promotes the analysis of data to monitor the effectiveness of instructional and intervention programs
- Develops and delivers data tools, protocols, and professional development for site-based personnel to strengthen their instructional knowledge to support teaching and learning for all students
- Provides support with using data to drive instructional changes at schools by analyzing and determining next steps based on disaggregated test scores, school walkthroughs, collections of student work, and District assessments
- Collaborates with instructional units in building the capacity of school teams to move Distance from Standards Data
- Coordinates and guides the analysis of data to monitor the effectiveness of instructional and intervention programs
- Develops and delivers data tools, protocols, and professional development for site-based personnel to strengthen their instructional knowledge to support teaching and learning for all students including English learners, Standard English learners, students with disabilities, and gifted and talented education students
- Performs other duties as assigned
SALARY:
41G, School Support Administrator (0515) – A Basis ($141,102 – $176,010) – 261 paid days
NOTE: This position will close on June 30, 2026.
- In the case of an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized “settlement” (i.e., the process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment).
- For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
- Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority-based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
- This position is deemed certificated under Education Code Section 44065, but may not qualify for "creditable service" under Education Code Section 22119.5 for CalSTRS benefits. However, if the candidate chosen for the position is already a CalSTRS member, he/she can fill out an election form to remain in CalSTRS and thereby obtain CalSTRS credit for this service.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public school certificated experience, with no fewer than two (2) years of which must have been in a leadership position(s) (e.g. coordinator, instructional coach, dean)
- A valid California Administrative Services Credential (Out-of-state candidates must qualify for and obtain a California credential prior to selection approval.)
- An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university
- Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework*

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and understanding of research-based and standards-based instructional data practices that support systemic change
- Knowledge and understanding of the following concepts: Distance from Standard; Student Growth Percentiles, growth trajectories, and trend analyses
- Knowledge and understanding of statistical methods and graphic presentation
- Knowledge of database software programs and data extraction techniques
- Knowledge of how data is used to allocate resources (Resource Mapping)
- Ability to use data to drive the development and monitoring of a school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement
- Ability to analyze data for the purpose of improving student achievement, behavior, and to inform instruction
- Ability to run data system queries, extract data, sort, update, and merge data files from a variety of sources
- Ability to quickly pull, summarize, and validate data in response to urgent requests
- Ability to create reports and produce spreadsheets, pivot tables, graphs, and customized data files
- Ability to plan and implement differentiated professional development aligned to standards-based instruction
- Ability to use data to build a multi-tiered system of support for academics and behavior
- Ability to make, support, and explain recommendations
- Ability to independently manage multiple, time-sensitive projects, organize resources, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment to meet goals and deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
