REGIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR,

BLACK STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT (BSA) SUPPORT

Serves as a key region coordinator for the implementation of the Black Student Achievement Plan as outlined in the Strategic Plan and the Black Student Achievement Plan (BSAP).  Aligns Black student needs with resources to ensure academic success and assists region leadership and the central office BSAP team in providing instructional and operational support for BSAP schools.  Works with the BSAP administrator and BSAP region directors to lead the development and implementation of instructional initiatives and strategic plans that close the achievement gap and ensures that Black students achieve high academic standards and graduate college-prepared or career-ready reaching the Board-approved success indicators.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides administrative coordination of the central office BSAP team and region leadership to monitor the progress of the Black student achievement: attendance, English Language Arts and mathematics proficiency, A-G on track, AP & honors participation, special education referrals, and graduation rates
  • Plans, delivers, and evaluates professional development that embeds culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy and anti-racism/anti-bias practices
  • Coordinates and evaluates all data to identify and effectively address the instructional needs of Black students in the region
  • Guides and supports teachers, school administrators, and community stakeholders in aligning resources to support the needs of students and the Strategic Plan and the Black Student Achievement Plan
  • Plans and implements extensive professional development for school staff, region directors, and administrators in revising instructional practices to address the needs of the Black students
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of professional development in relation to Black students’ performance
  • Coordinates intensive instructional support at school sites that are struggling to meet the Black Student Achievement Plan outcomes
  • Works collaboratively with the BSAP leadership team to ensure a safe and effective learning and school campus environment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

SALARY:

43G, (School Support Administrator, 0515) – A Basis ($149,046 – $185,940) – 261 paid days

NOTE: This position will close on June 30, 2026.

  • In the case of an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized “settlement” (i.e., the process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment).
  • For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
  • Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority-based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than two (2) years of which must have been in a position(s) requiring the Administrative Services Credential
  • At least three (3) years of successful, full-time public school service in a school principal position(s)
  • At least five (5) years of successful, full-time Pre-K – 12 public school teaching experience
  • A valid California Administrative Services Credential
  • An earned master's degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university
  • Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework*

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Leadership experience demonstrated by a successful track record of improved student achievement
  • Instructional leadership experience demonstrated by experience as an instructional coach or coordinator
  • Leadership experience in planning, organizing, and implementing professional development which is aligned with District priorities
  • Experience leading the implementation of standards-based instruction for all core subjects
  • Experience in leading Equity, Access, and Acceleration initiatives
  • Experience in leveraging instructional technology to enhance student learning
  • Experience using the Teaching and Learning Framework and School Leadership Framework as a coaching and professional development tool
  • Experience in the use and analysis of assessment data to inform instruction
  • Knowledge of the California Education Code, Every Student Succeeds Act, District Board rules, policies, procedures, Black Student Achievement Plan, goals, objectives, organizational structures, functions, and negotiated contracts related to the District’s instructional programs and curriculum
  • Knowledge of fundamental principles and practices, current trends, curriculum and research in the areas of instruction, curriculum, and evaluation strategies
  • Knowledge of effective administrative and managerial practices and the ability to implement them
  • Ability to support the instructional needs of all student subgroups
  • Ability to build consensus with and develop collegial relationships with staff and stakeholders
  • Leadership skills in facilitating group process, including consensus building and conflict resolution
  • Appropriate interpersonal style and methods to guide individuals toward task accomplishment
