How to Apply for a Classified Job

Thank you for your interest in a career with LAUSD. Please DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICTION using this job requisition. To submit an application for a specific job with LAUSD, you may follow the steps outlined below or view our short How to Apply for an LAUSD Job Video. Step 1. Visit our website at www.lausdjobs.org  and scroll down to the Career Area to select a job of interest.

 

Step 2. After identifying a job of interest, pay close attention to the Minimum Requirements of the job, the application deadline, and salary.

 

Step 3. Once you are ready to apply, click on the apply now button.

 

Step 4.External candidates can apply by clicking on the "Candidate Login" link at the top right corner of the page. Internal Candidates must click on the "Employee Login" link located below the "Candidate Login" link.

 

Step 5. If you have applied before, log in with your established username and password. If you don't remember your password, choose the password forgotten button. If you haven't applied in our new system, you will need to create an account. IMPORTANT NOTE: All active LAUSD employees have an existing candidate account and SHOULD NOT create a second account. 

 

Step 6. As part of the application process, you will create or update your candidate profile. Your profile will make it easier for you to apply to multiple jobs now or in the future.  

 

Step 7. The first section of your profile allows you to upload relevant documents. You should upload your resume. The system will automatically populate parts of the application from the information contained in your resume. Additionally, some jobs may require applicants to include a resume along with their application. 

 

Step 8. Fill out all relevant sections of your profile, including your contact information, employment history for at least the past 5 years, education, licenses and certifications. Pay close attention to the Desired Employment section to indicate the areas you are willing to work, as well as to indicate your preferences for work shifts and temporary work.    

 

Step 9. In the final section, respond to job-specific questions, as this information will be used to determine your qualifications for the job and may be used as part of an actual employment testing process. 

 

Step 10. Review your candidate profile and application to be sure that all information is included adn accurate and then submit the application by clicking on the "apply button".
