COORDINATOR, MICRO-CREDENTIALING PROGRAM

The Human Resources Division's Micro-Credentialing Program is now accepting applications for the position of Coordinator, Micro-Credentialing Program.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the Administrative Coordinator, Micro-Credentialing Program to support the ongoing operation of the District’s current micro-credential offerings and expansion to new micro-credentials by developing and delivering micro-credential content, assessments, and professional learning in alignment with Human Resources Micro-Credential Program requirements and standards
- Collaborates with Human Resources micro-credential partners to support their development and delivery of micro-credential content, assessments, and professional learning
- Serves as a content developer and instructor for synchronous, face-to-face micro-credential learning sessions, both virtual and in-person, that leverage instructional technology and adult learning theory. Special areas of support will include the STEAM and Antiracist Instruction micro-credentials
- Develops high-quality asynchronous, online micro-credential professional learning content and activities using MyPLN, Schoology, Google apps, and a variety of digital resources and tools, and identifies best practices for online learning. Special areas of focus will include the STEAM and Antiracist Instruction micro-credentials
- Evaluates the work submitted by micro-credential candidates, provides targeted feedback, and maintains records of program completion for each candidate
- Leads the development and operation of a micro-credential candidate support system that includes coaching and support from dedicated support providers, drop-in support sessions, and other means of supporting candidate success through the micro-credentialing process
- Develops, fosters, and supports an alumni network of micro-credential earners that facilitates District-wide collaboration and the sharing of best practices and resources aligned to the areas of each micro-credential
- Supports the development and maintenance of a website and social platforms that serve as the micro-credentialing hub and pipeline for communication, information, and resources aligned to the District’s micro-credential offerings and that support classroom best practices
- Supports the creation and issuance of digital badges for micro-credential earners and supports the development of a micro-credential badge renewal process
- Serves as a liaison between micro-credential developers and the District’s Salary Allocation Unit
- Performs other duties as assigned
SALARY:
41G, (School Support Administrator, 0515) – A Basis ($141,102 – $176,010) – 261 paid days
NOTE: This position will close on June 30, 2026.
- In the case of an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized “settlement” (i.e., the process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment).
- For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
- Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority-based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
- This position is deemed certificated under Education Code Section 44065, but may not qualify for "creditable service" under Education Code Section 22119.5 for CalSTRS benefits. However, if the candidate chosen for the position is already a CalSTRS member, he/she can fill out an election form to remain in CalSTRS and thereby obtain CalSTRS credit for this service.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than two (2) years of which must have been in a leadership position(s) (e.g., coordinator, instructional coach, dean)
- A valid California Administrative Services Credential
- An earned master's degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university
- Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework*

Employees who have been issued a below standard Performance Evaluation, or Notice of Unsatisfactory Act(s) and/or Suspension shall be ineligible for application to any promotion process for one calendar year following the issuance of such a Notice.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned Los Angeles Unified School District Future Ready Certification or Los Angeles Unified School District Micro-Credential
- Extensive knowledge in curriculum, instruction, methodology, and effective research-based strategies for all PK-12 students, including those in STEAM programs, LAUSD’s at-promise groups, English learners, Standard English learners, students with disabilities, and gifted and talented education students
- Knowledge and understanding of STEAM Pedagogy
- Knowledge and understanding of Culturally and Linguistically Relevant Pedagogy
- Experience as a coach, coordinator, or administrator at the school, region, or central District level
- Experience as a professional developer at the region or central District level demonstrated by a successful track record of designing and delivering differentiated professional learning for large and small groups, both synchronously and asynchronously, in diverse content areas aligned to District initiatives that led to improved student achievement
- Sophisticated understanding and the ability to apply theories of:
- Adult learning & engagement
- Student growth and development
- Educator support, growth, and development
- Group coordination, communication, and organizational planning
- Design and delivery of rigorous and engaging professional learning sessions for adults
- Job-embedded technologies that include knowledge of and experience in the use of current educational technology and software programs and platforms that include MyPLN, Schoology, and Google Apps

- Capacity to work independently when managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously while providing detailed updates on progress

- Ability to collaborate effectively with others at all levels of an organization and to demonstrate a high level of professionalism in all interactions
- Ability to handle information in a confidential manner in accordance with established policies and legal requirements
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work comfortably in an ambiguous climate and adapting to new circumstances
