The Los Angeles Unified School District seeks an outstanding Principal to support the students, staff, and community at Baldwin Hills Elementary School towards achieving academic success for all students.

Baldwin Hills Elementary Pilot & Gifted/High Ability Magnet is unique and has a reputation for being a gem among LAUSD schools because of our success in implementing the Black Student Achievement Plan. Though focused on academic excellence, we believe there should not be a ceiling on achievement and that we can do more as a Pilot School to make decisions that directly impact the families and community that we know so well and serve.

Our school's aim is to create an academically rigorous, culturally responsive instructional program that propels our scholars to meet their limitless potential. To meet this goal, we actively solicit parent/community engagement and partnerships. We affirm who our students are and what they bring through employing culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogical practices. We implement STEAM driven projects & problem-based inquiries to build on our scholars’ curiosities, providing opportunities for them to demonstrate their understanding in varying ways. Our school motto is “Anchored and grounded in strengths from our past, poised & ready to soar!” We are a multiple-year-winning Magnet school, a California Distinguished School for Closing the Achievement Gap, and a school that employs a highly decorated staff inclusive of Nationally Board-Certified teachers, Cotsen Art of Teaching Fellows, LAUSD Rookie of the Year teachers, UCLA Principal Leadership Institute teachers, and more.
