ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR, PARENT AND COMMUNITY SERVICES

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates the operation of various District-level advisory committees, including coordinating elections, trainings, and other engagement sessions for committees’ members
- Develops training modules for school principals to communicate the Title I and English learner family engagement requirements and initiatives to families and school staff
- Develops and delivers training bi-monthly to the region Family and Community Engagement (FACE) personnel on family engagement instructional initiatives to align with District priorities
- Develops and delivers targeted training to region coordinators on leading family engagement, including responsibilities related to bi-annual federal program monitoring
- Coordinates support for families with region and central office personnel, and developing training modules and professional development models for region FACE teams, school teams, and parent and family center personnel
- Collaborates with region staff to provide coaching and support on family engagement mandates at school sites
- Drafts policy and writes inter-office communications related to various family engagement initiatives, including the development of Board reports, bulletins, and memoranda
- Develops and delivers the curriculum and presentations for various program requirements to be shared at the annual family engagement professional development summits for principals and school staff and other training sessions
- Supervises and evaluates certificated and classified personnel
- Serves as a liaison between the Office of Student, Family, and Community Engagement and other District offices
- Performs other family engagement duties as assigned
SALARY:
- In the case of an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized “settlement” (i.e., the process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment).
- For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
- Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority-based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
- This position is deemed certificated under Education Code Section 44065, but may not qualify for "creditable service" under Education Code Section 22119.5 for CalSTRS benefits. However, if the candidate chosen for the position is already a CalSTRS member, he/she can fill out an election form to remain in CalSTRS and thereby obtain CalSTRS credit for this service.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least eight (8) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position(s), with no fewer than two (2) years of which must have been in a position(s) requiring the Administrative Services Credential
- A valid California Administrative Services Credential (Out-of-state applicants must qualify for and obtain a California credential prior to selection approval.)
- An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university
- Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework*

- Exemplary school administrator leadership experience
- Experience leading school or District committees
- Experience training parents and developing appropriate training materials for workshops
- Experience cultivating effective partnerships
- Experience supporting parents to influence student outcomes
- Experience with collaborative planning and ability to organize, coordinate, and evaluate activities and programs
- Experience working effectively with students, parents, communities, and District personnel
- Experience developing professional development specifically for family engagement.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Effective use of current technology in the performance of job duties
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Familiarity with research and best practices in the field of parent engagement
